About Forett at Bukit Timah
Inspired by the French word for forest, the name Forett represents the development's close geographical proximity to natural spaces like Bukit Timah Reserve, and encapsulates the nature and greenery that surrounds it.
Forett at Bukit Timah is located along Toh Tuck Road which is the former Goodluck Garden with 210 units that was sold to by Qingjian Realty in a collective sale in Mar 2018. It was purchased at $60 million above the reserved price of $550 million that the owners expected in which each of the owners can be awarded between $924,000 and $3.51 million from the sales. This freehold land was one of the largest en bloc deal in 2018 which lies within walking distance to Beauty World MRT Station.
The collective sale for Goodluck Garden which sits on a land size of 46,840 sqm, was concluded on 7th March 2018 after being launched on 26 January 2018. Based on a potential gross floor area os 46,840 sqm, the translated land cost works out to be about $1,210 per sq ft per plot ratio. However, due to a high development baseline, the development charge will not be charged for the 10 per cent bonus balcony area and thus reduces the land cost to $1,100 psf ppr.
Design Concept
Our design vision draws from the site context, it's inspiration and name is taken from the word forest in french as Forett at Bukit Timah. In general, the topography of the Bukit Timah hill and the parks surrounding it not only features greens, trees, shrubbery, foliage but also water bodies, reservoirs, pools, streams. Not only it is just flat, but it is also a tiered and consist of lots of vertical landscape. From which, our inspirations draw from nature where we want to create a home within nature and to reflect nature and to allow nature to blend into the internal thru the external spaces and visa versa. This allows us to create a beautiful sanctuary for homeowners in this affluent neighbourhood.
Therefore our vision is going to create a contemporary architecture and also a timeless design that will look not great just now or when it's completed but ten years up to fifty years and many more years to come. The design that will complement the modern lifestyle for the new living.
Given these surroundings, our approach to the design has always to work with nature and within the site context to create the design for this development. The spaces that we have created as we place in the blocks, a slithers of greens and landscape and facilities that ties in and complement each other, creating a large beautiful site planning space.

Forett at Bukit Timah is situated along Toh Tuck Road with close proximity to park connector that links up to the Bukit Batok Park in the north, Bukit Batok Town Park (Little Guilin) in the northwest and the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve in the northeastern direction with Upper Peirce Reservoir and MacRitchie Reservoir within the park connections.

It lies approximately 850m away to Beauty World MRT Station which is about 10 mins stroll to the station. Forett at Bukit Timah Architectural Topography
As a whole the site of Forett at Bukit Timah, like the nature reserve is not actually on flat ground, it features a rugged terrain and from this, it requires a very sensitive approach on how the development would touch the ground. As shown in the topography, the first set of blocks (blue zone) are sat at FL133 and then it goes down to the beige area which is at FL130, down to the purple at FL127 and finally at the lower level at FL123. So the difference in level is actually about 9 to 10 meters difference from the main entrance coming in from Toh Tuck Road to the egress out at Toh Tuck minor.
According to the URA Master Plan, the site is having a plot ratio of 1.4 which predominantly in Singapore, it only able to build up to 5-storeys. However, our group of architects, consultants have worked with the authorities to obtain the necessary approval to have 9-storeys blocks in a plot ratio of 1.4, which is indicated in orange and the rest of the nine blocks in blue are 5-storeys. If it is a typical 1.4 plot ratio, the site will then have to add another four blocks which will result in a congested and densely packed environment.
With these, the solution is to design the project based on a series of tiered platforms levels that paraess down and with the block sited on different platforms levels and varying heights which will then be able to create a kind of architectural topography whereby recreating the tiered landscape into the development skyline.
